Žejančići

The children's language playgroup “Žejančići” started on Sept. 20, 2013 in Žejane. Since then it has been held regularly in the temporary premises of the Žejane Heritage Center, located in the old Žejane school. Adrijana Gabriš runs the playgroup. In any given year, the playgroup is attended by ten to fifteen children of preschool age, elementary school and even high school age. The playgroup is held once a week for two hours, between September to Christmas, and again, between March and June. Each term ends with a children's performance and socializing with the parents and other guests.

The goal of the playgroup is for the children to learn the basics of the Zheyanski language through games, writing, singing, dancing, plays, drawing, coloring and other fun activities, as well as to acquire new skills and knowledge related to the cultural heritage of Žejane. Through games and an educational process focused on the learning of Zheyanski and becoming acquainted with their own language and cultural heritage, the children create drawings, collages and various paper products, learn the script, celebrate feast days and other holidays with celebrations, drawings, cards and other activities, and learn about their natural and social environment.
