Day of the Vlashki language 2015

The seventh annual Day of the Vlashki language was held on Sunday, August 2, 2015 in Šušnjevica.

The welcome speech was given by the Istrian Region Vice-President, Viviana Benussi, and Vlado Peršić, the Deputy Major of the Kršan County. A newly published tri-lingual tourist map of Šušnjevica and the surrounding area, and an information sign feature the map, that was erected on the square in Šušnjevica, were presented to the large audience. The concept for the map and the information sign and the descriptive text was prepared by Viviana Brkarić and Zvjezdana Vrzić, the director of the project, while Valter Stojšić authored the illustrations and design of the map and sign.

The tourist map and sign show locations where the Vlashki language is spoken and points of particular significance for the villagers and the visitors of the aera. Those present were given the tourist maps while the program continued with the performance of Zoran Karlić and Dalen Načinović from the Folklore group “Ivan Fonović Zlatela”. After the program refreshments were served and socialising continued on the square.
