Preparations for filming the music video Pipa
30.09.2014.
After the summer break, the Children’s language playgroup “Žejančići” began with activities once again in September, after the start of the school year. Given that the filming of the music video Pipa had been planned, the entire season (half-year) was focused around it.
The filming took place in an old konoba (wine cellar), at Kljonetovi, while the script was written as follows: in the 1950’s, in a Žejane house (still lacking electricity), a family prepares a traditional dinner (homemade pasta, fresh cabbage salad and beans/fažol). While some are getting ready for the Midnight Mass, others are studying (at the time Christmas was not an official holiday), nono (grandfather) looks for his pipe…
To ensure that the children were well prepared, before filming began, a language workshop with native speakers was held, entitled Kum av fost (How things used to be). Right up to the start of filming, children learned about what kitchens once looked like, which utensils were used and what they were used for. This is also how two short poems, written by Adrijana Gabriš, originated: Laticele, mora ši broštulinu and Ân kuhinje.
The topics of the language playgroup sessions for this period were actually devised with the aim of presenting the playgroup participants with an image of the traditions of times long past in Žejane. In this creative and fun way the past was connected to modern times, and this in turn resulted in a new project promoting the Zheyanski language.
